Erivo and Henry Set for The Last Five Years Benefit Tony winner Cynthia Erivo  ( The Color Purple ) and two-time Tony nominee Joshua Henry  ( The Scottsboro Boys , Violet , Shuffle Along... ) will star in a one-night-only benefit concert of Jason Robert Brown's   The Last Five Years , which was last seen in New York in 2013 . Proceeds from the September 12 Town Hall concert will go to the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence . (Brown has been a vocal support of gun safety measures.) Though Erivo and Henry are African-American performers, nothing about the show—dramaturgically speaking—will change. ( The Last Five Years  is specifically about a Jewish man, Jamie, and his shiksa goddess, Cathy.) Tickets go on sale Wednesday. Visit The New York Times  for more. Tony Award Nominations and Honorees The Tony Award nominations were announced on Tuesday. See the full list of nominees , check out my Culturalists ( Best Nominations and Worst Snubs ) and then head to Pinterest for Tony photos throughout the season. Also announced on Tuesday: The hosts of the Tony Awards. This year, Tony winners Kristin Chenoweth (a nominee this year for On the Twentieth Century ) and Alan Cumming ( Cabaret ) will be our guides. In addition to the competitive Tony Awards, some special, non-competitive awards will be handed out on June 7: John Cameron Mitchell will receive the 2015 Special Tony Award , recognizing his artistry and his journey with Hedwig and the Angry Inch . (In addition to co-creating the show in the 90s, Mitchell just returned to the role, playing on Broadway for the last few months.)  Stephen Schwartz will receive the Isabelle Stevenson Award , the Tonys' humanitarian award....

66th Emmy Award Nominations

The nominees for the 66th annual Emmy Awards have been announced. Herein, a list of many of the nominees. Visit emmys.com for the full list. DRAMA Drama Series Breaking Bad Downton Abbey Game of Thrones House of Cards Mad Men True Detective I'm bummed to see The Good Wife didn't make the list. It had such an incredible season. As it stands, this is a good slate. House of Cards and Game of Thrones were terrific this season, but I'm betting things will break well for Breaking Bad 's final season.  Lead Actress Michelle Dockery, Downton Abbey Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife Claire Danes, Homeland Robin Wright, House of Cards Lizzy Caplan, Masters of Sex Kerry Washington, Scandal What a talented crop of ladies. I've never watched Scandal and only last night did I start watching Masters of Sex (so far so good), but even among the first four ladies... This was a breakout season for Julianna Margulies, but I think Robin Wright is flawles...
