Casting News It's official: Oscar Isaac ( Inside Llewyn Davis , Ex Machina ) will return to the NY stage in a 2017 production of Hamlet . Isaac will, as was previously speculated , play the titular, indecisive Dane. The Theatre for a New Audience production will be directed by Tony winner Sam Gold ( Fun Home , John ), and run June 4-July 30, 2017. Opening night will be celebrated on June 22. Tickets are now on sale to subscribers; single tickets will go on sale in early 2017. Playbill has more. Broadway.com reports that Tony nominee Marc Kudisch ( Hand to God ) will join the company of Finding Neverland , beginning April 12. He'll step into the role of Charles Frohman/Captain Hook. Tony winner Heather Headley ( Aida ) will succeed Jennifer Hudson in the acclaimed revival of The Color Purple . Hamilton News The Hamilton original Broadway cast recording was released digitally this week. (CDs will be released October 16, and vinyls will be released in January 2016.) You can visit your favorite digital music retailer to purchase the album, and then head to the Atlantic Records website , where you can download the full lyrics and album credits. In addition, it was announced that the Hamilton book, which will feature annotated lyrics and many other goodies, is now available for pre-order. The title will be released on April 12, 2016. New York City Ballet Season On Sale Individual tickets for New York City Ballet's 2015-2016 season are now on sale. The season includes seven world premiere ballets, including two from the Company's resident choreographer and soloist, Justin Peck ( Everywhere We Go , Rodeo: Four Dance Episodes ). There will also be a new Christopher Wheeldon ( After the Rain , An American in Paris ) ballet, as well as another collaboration between choreographers and fashion designers. (Read this Week in Review from June for more about that.) In addition, the promotional artwork for the season (like the NY Export: Opus Jazz drawing at right) marks a collaboration between NYCB and artist Jamie Lee Reardin.
