Casting News Tony and Academy Award nominated actor and activist Mark Ruffalo will return to Broadway in Roundabout's revival of Arthur Miller's The Price . Ruffalo ( Spotlight ) replaces the previously announced John Turturro, who had to bow out due to filming commitments. Tony Shalhoub and Jessica Hecht are still scheduled to appear. Previews begin February 16, with opening night scheduled for March 16. Theater Mania has more. Casting for the first national tour of Hamilton has been announced. Joshua Henry , who plays Aaron Burr in the Chicago production, will star as Burr; Michael Luwoye , who is the Broadway Hamilton alternate, will star as Hamilton; and Broadway's outgoing King George III, Rory O'Malley , will be back as the king. The cast will also include Emmy Raver-Lampman (Angelica; she appeared in the Broadway production as an ensemble member), Isaiah Johnson (Washington), and Desmond Newson (ensemble), among others. Sunday in the Park with Jake and Annaleigh on Broadway Following an acclaimed, four-performance run at City Center , the Stephen Sondheim-James Lapine musical, Sunday in the Park with George , will bow on Broadway this season for a limited run, with stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford in tow. You might recall that Gyllenhaal had been slated to return to Broadway this spring in a revival of Burn This , and that the production would open the new Hudson Theatre. The production was cancelled, in all likelihood, to make room for this production, which will, in fact, play the Hudson Theatre. Previews begin February 11, 2017, with opening night set for February 23. The limited engagement is scheduled to conclude April 23. No official word yet regarding whether or not the rest of the starry cast will join Gyllenhaal and Tony winner Ashford for the Broadway run. Broadway.com has more, and you can see the key art below. Coming to Broadway Amelie —It's official: The new musical, Amelie , will be on Broadway this spring. Based on the [year] film, Amelie features a book by Craig Lucas ( An American in Paris ), and a score by Daniel Messe (music) and Nathan Tysen (lyrics), and is directed by Tony winner Pam MacKinnon ( Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? ). Amelie will play the Walter Kerr Theatre, with previews beginning March 9, 2017. Opening night is set for April 3, and the cast will be led by Tony nominee Phillipa Soo ( Hamilton ) and Adam Chanler-Berat ( Next to Normal , The Fortress of Solitude ). The Play That Goes Wrong —The Olivier-winning play The Play That Goes Wrong will bow on Broadway this spring. Performances at the Lyceum Theatre begin March 9, 2017, with opening night set for April 2. Broadway.com has more. Among those who'll appear in the limited series are Oscar winning -musician Trent Reznor ( The Social Network ); Naomi Watts ; Eddie Vedder ; frequent David Lynch collaborator Laura Dern ( Wild ); Virginia Kull ( Assistance , The Affair ); original Twin Peaks stars, Kyle MacLachlan and Russ Tamblyn (that would be Riff, from West Side Story ); and others.
