Page to Screen Academy Award winner Leonardo DiCaprio ( The Revenant ) is set to star in a film adaptation of Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI , a David Grann novel. (Obviously, they'll have to change the title.) DiCaprio will reteam with legendary director Martin Scorsese (they collaborated on The Departed , Shutter Island , and other films) for the project, which is still in the fledgling stages. The novel is being adapted by screenwrite Eric Roth ( Forrest Gump ). Variety has more. Two-time Academy Award winner and Tony nominee Cate Blanchett ( Blue Jasmine , The Present ) is set to star in the adaptation of Where'd you Go, Bernadette? , which, BTW, is not about Bernadette Peters. With Breathing Time , Beau Willimon has crafted a thoroughly engaging, provocative play about human connection. Genuinely funny at times, poignant at others and deliciously acerbic in between, Breathing Time is, essentially, a character study seeking to find out what happens when strangers are thrown together, linked by a bond of shared experience. The three-scene play (directed by Aaron Rossini ) begins with the arrogant Jack ( Craig Wesley Divino , who delivers with a smarmy yet appealing performance) walking into the office he shares with Mike ( Lee Dolson ). Jack is still hungover from the previous night’s festivities, but he has an important, possibly career-changing presentation to give in one hour and fourteen minutes. (Jack’s precise and, in this play, timing is important.) Most of this first scene, which takes up the majority of the play, is deceptively innocuous—two guys nattering on about this or that. With the New Year right around the corner, it's time for my year in review. Herein, my favorite things of the year (in alphabetical order), plus some honorable mentions. (Like Spinal Tap, I take this to 11.) Aaron Tveit Has a Good Year —The multi-talented star began the year by being the best thing about the screen adaptation of Les Miserables . He continued his mastery of the universe by walking out on stage at the Academy Awards like a boss, showing everyone how it's done. Then his new TV show, Graceland , premiered on USA Network and was picked up for a second season. He basically broke 54 Below's ticketing system, selling out several concerts (I couldn't even get a ticket), and then released a recording of the concerts (the album has been in constant rotation).
