American Idiot Finds a Home!

American Idiot is coming to Broadway! It's official! I don't think I can even begin to describe just how happy I am. American Idiot will move into the St James Theatre (current home to the closing Finian's Rainbow) and begin previews on March 24, which is when I'll see the B'way incarnation for the first time. It will have its official opening on April 20, which is when I'll see it for the second time. After that, I hope against all hopes that it will have a long and glorious run. No doubt it will garner several Tony nominations and play at least through the rest of the calendar year.

No casting has been announced, but I'd bet everything in my pockets that Johnny Gallagher will reprise his role and I'm pretty sure much of the Berkeley cast will join him. More info will be shared as it comes out. (Johnny starts a month long Friday night residency at Rockwood Music Hall this week - maybe I'll try to get some scoop!)
